Kia’s Most Inexpensive Car is Also Their Most Reliable One

April 28th, 2023 by

Kia has been known for many years for making vehicles that customers can trust. This is why so many people keep coming back to purchase these cars, but something else they have constantly done is make affordable vehicles.

2023 Kia Rio Reliability

The Rio is the most dependable Kia model. Many might assume that the quality might be low due to the low price; however, that isn’t the case with the Kia Rio. With its much less complex powertrain and parts as compared to greater high-priced models within the Kia lineup, the subcompact is much less prone to problems. RepairPal gives the Rio an “excellent” reliability rating of 4.5 out of five; this is the best in the Kia lineup. The rating was based on frequency, severity, and cost of repairs. Like other new Kia models, the Rio has a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Some of the standard technology is a rear-camera display to help see behind the vehicle while in reverse. Wireless Android Auto can make calls, dictate texts, and access voice-guided navigation directly from the car itself. Wireless Apple CarPlay lets drivers send texts verbally, receive calls, and access apps while keeping their focus on the road without touching the phone. Also, at a click of a button from your smartphone:

  • Remote Start with Climate Control
  • Remote Lock & Unlock
  • Find My Car
  • 911 Connect & Roadside Assistance

The Rio has an elegant and spacious cabin with comfort this is personalized. Jump in with plush seating, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and available automatic climate control. The relaxation of the essential controls is close within reach through the standard 8.0-inch touchscreen display. Stay linked to all apps with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Rio is the best of the lot, coming in two body styles, both with good handling and gas mileage. It starts at $16,750 MSRP (plus destination fee), which makes the subcompact sedan the cheapest new Kia car in 2023. The hatchback of the Rio starting price is  $17,690 MSRP (plus destination fee). The Kia Rio is one of the most budget-friendly vehicles; it comes in third in the United States in affordability.

Every Rio is powered by a 1.6-liter Gamma II four-cylinder with 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque, sending energy to the front wheels through a constantly variable transmission. As a bonus, city fuel economy will increase by one mile per gallon with the 2023 version, the sedan returning 33 in the city, 41 on the highway, 36 combined, and a 428-mile EPA-rated range on a full tank. It gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 32 city/41 highway mpg, resulting in savings at the pump.
