The 2024 Kia Sorento Reveals New Face and Interior

August 4th, 2023 by

The 2024 Kia Sorento gets a refresh, and the revised version welcomes new styling for the front and rear ends, along with an interior upgrade that brings new screens.

2024 Kia Sorento New Look

The redesigned front end of the 2024 Kia Sorento is highlighted through a modern pair of slimmer and vertically-stacked LED headlights flanking the tiger-nose grille. The bumper showcases clean lines, and the hood  now seamlessly aligns with the nose. The rest of the bodywork remains in a large part unchanged, other than the restyled rear bumper, the creation of the current new Kia emblems, and the slightly remodeled LED taillights, now offering connected clusters.

The automaker has added a glowing format for the alloy wheels and a choice of the latest exterior shades to complement the overall updated look; at least for the Korea-market model, this has been proven so far. The interior has a more streamlined dashboard layout, incorporating easy lines for a contemporary-day aesthetic. The standout feature is the modern huge curved display, boasting dual 12.3-inch screens that seamlessly combine the ultra-modern infotainment software. There are slimmer climate vents below the screen, a new ambient lighting stripe, and revised climate controls. There’s additionally a touchbar lower down at the dash that looks similar to the one in the Sportage and the EV6 that could switch between HVAC and navigation controls.

What To Expect For The U.S. Version?

The refreshed SUV is anticipated to be revealed in mid-August when Kia publicizes pricing for the Korean market. The North American specification version could be introduced in the following months and will arrive in 2024, depending on its availability. The 2024 Kia Sorento’s price will only be published closer to its on-sale date; however, there should be a small increase over the 2023 model. Right now, the MSRP of the base Sorento is $30,090 (plus destination fee), growing to $36,690 (plus destination fee) for the hybrid and $38,690 (plus destination fee) for the PHEV. The most expensive model is the SX Prestige PHEV at $49,990 (plus destination fee), so the 2024 equivalent will, in all likelihood, cost over $52k (plus destination fee); that is the speculation.

As this is not an all-new model, we anticipate the scale of the brand-new Kia Sorento SUV to stay more or less the same. The 2023 model is available at 189 inches in length, 74.8 inches in width, and 66.7 inches in height, spread over a wheelbase of 110.8 inches. Expect the North American model to keep the same powertrain options, together with a 191HP 2.5-liter straight-four, a 281HP 2.0L turbo, a 227HP 1.6L hybrid, and a 261HP 1.6L plug-in hybrid. The global Sorento is available in five exterior colors, including Interstellar Grey, Cityscape Green, and Volcanic Sand Brown, and three interior colors, including a new black and olive-brown. Expect new wheel designs and interior schemes as well.

Southern Kia Virginia Beach

We look forward to Kia releasing the U.S. information on the updated version soon before it reaches showrooms, likely before the end of the year. As we wait, we have the opportunity to speculate what we’d see on this version, but in the meantime, come on into Southern Kia Virginia Beach and get a concept of what it could look like from the 2023 version.
